During this program, kids will learn about the unique solar phenomena, and do an eclipse themed craft and activity. This program is for kids ages 7-11. Space is limited; Registration Required; FREE
Thursday, April 4
3:30pm-5pm
Drop-in to celebrate next week’s eclipse with a space party! We’ll make and decorate cereal box eclipse viewers, sample astronaut ice cream, and more. Suggested for ages 6-11. No Registration Required. FREE
Solar Eclipse Snacks to Make & Share : Teen Event (Westborough)

Get ready to celebrate the solar eclipse. Teens are invited to learn how to make (and then eat) some eclipse themed snacks. This program is open to teens in grades 6 through 12. Registration is required. FREE

Can you directly look at the sun? No, of course not! Come make and decorate a cereal box viewer to safely view the eclipse on April 8 while supplies last. Suggested for children under 11 years old. No Registration Required. FREE

Join Julie Harrold and create an eclipse-inspired painting--on the day of the solar eclipse! Julie will walk you through the steps to create a vivid and colorful composition--all supplies provided. Registration required. FREE
2024 Eclipse Celebration at the EcoTarium

A total solar eclipse is arcing across the country, and we’re near its path! To celebrate our closest approach to totality until 2079, we’re breaking the rules and opening with FREE ADMISSION all afternoon. Join us on Sundial Plaza with a chair, a blanket, or even a whole picnic as we watch the Moon cover the Sun. And while you’re here, explore extrasolar planets, build your own solar system, or head inside to the planetarium and investigate eclipses from beyond the atmosphere. Stop by for an afternoon at the EcoTarium that will be out of this world! FREE
Total ECLIPSE in the Heart! Community Eclipse Viewing at Oread Castle Park

Solar Eclipse Viewing at the Worcester Commons

Worcester will experience more that 90% obscuration during the 2024 Solar Eclipse! Meet us in the Worcester Commons to enjoy the excitement of this solar event with your community, who will be gathering on the Common to view the height of the event together (Maximum eclipse expected at 3:28pm) and to receive your own pair of eclipse glasses.* The library will also have a glasses decorating station, lawn games from our Library of Things collection, a bookmobile available for browsing, and more! *Eclipse glasses supplies are limited and will be available beginning at 2pm in the Common on a first come, first served basis. Must be in-person to receive glasses. *Seating is limited, lawn chairs are recommended. No Registration Required. FREE
